The Great 12 Sailing Challenge is held in May/June at Seaview, Isle of White.

This regatta was founded in 2004 by the Ironmongers Company as a regatta for just the Great 12 livery companies, who charter the matched fleet of 12 Mermaids owned by the Sea View YC. The Mermaid is a 26-foot half-open keelboat, usually raced with a crew of three.
It is organised by the Sea View YC.
It now complements the Sailing Challenge, a similar regatta for all non Great 12 liveries, also raced at Seaview, in September.
