The annual inter-livery Cask Race is held in Guildhall Yard each June/July.
The date for 2026 is Saturday 4th July 2026
Eligibility: livery companies invited to enter a team of four.

Born out of the pandemic, the Cask Race was created to lift spirits, showcase the Coopers’ craft, and bring the City together.
Inspired by barrel-racing traditions abroad, it found its perfect stage in Guildhall Yard, once a Roman amphitheatre and the historic heart of coopering in London.
Teams of four people compete in an exhilarating test of strength, skill, and teamwork, rolling casks across the cobbles for the championship title. The event, which welcomes supporters and spectators, usually takes place on a Saturday morning in June or early July.
